2020 EVENT CANCELLATION NOTICE

It is a sad time around the world, the escalating situation with COVID-19 is having an impact on everyone and everything. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to those dealing with this worldwide pandemic.

We have been keeping up with the position of the Government through this time. The Government has come out and set guide lines for events and we have to, unfortunately, cancel the Waiheke Half Marathon Event on Saturday 2nd May 2020.

Why cancel now? The Ministry of Health has stated, “Gatherings of 500 people or more in close proximity will be cancelled”. With no end date on the recent update and the high level of uncertainty moving forward, the Waiheke Half Marathon has cancelled the 2020 event early to provide certainty for our early entrants so that travel and accommodation arrangements can be reviewed/altered as soon as possible too.

The standard terms and conditions of entry for all past Waiheke Half Marathon events, and the 2020 event are:
* All event entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.
* In the case of the event being cancelled for reasons of health, safety or natural disasters, entry fees will not be refunded.

In some good news for a change, we have made the decision to transfer all the current 2020 entries to the 2021 event which is proposed to be on Saturday 1st May 2021.

Our standard terms and conditions will still apply to these transferred entries for the 2021 event.

The impact on you, our much-loved participants cannot be understated and there are no winners in this mess. We’d like to finish with a heartfelt apology, and would also like to thank those of you that have been in touch already with your messages of understanding and support. We understand how disappointing this is for everyone involved.
