Kinder is a musical set in a children’s hospital in the 60s. It centers around three children and their mistreatment by the matron, and it deals with the issues children face and the unwillingness of people to get involved and stand up for children. Beautiful music, dance and singing, lots of fun and thought provoking, too!

ladies_for_hire
“Ladies for Hire” – by Alison Quigan and directed by Renee Casserly follows the misadventures of a bunch of sassy songstresses from St Mary’s church choir expelled from the church for their wayward ways… or are there other forces at play?!? The play explores the way in which a choir brings together those who might not normally become friends.

Written by one of NZ’s most loved Kiwi playwrights, this play is for anyone who enjoys a good belly laugh or a wee giggle. Theatreview says of the original production: “the play’s dialogue sparkles, laced with quick earthy and ironic wit.” The choir is made up of “real kiwi women” of a range of ages and coming from a variety of backgrounds; they all have their failings, and some a sharp tongue, but all have huge hearts.
Tickets: Premium $22, standard $20, student $18. Bookings through Waiheke i-Site.
