Onetangi beach is a spectacular two kilometre long stretch of white sand and is the largest beach on the island. It generally has more surf than the other northern beaches, which makes it popular for swimming and water activities.
Facilities include public toilets, a beach store, two popular cafes, and a bus stop. Onetangi Beach does not have a children’s playground adjacent to it, but there is one further up the road within a few minutes walk.
Onetangi Beach is the location for the annual Onetangi Beach Races, which is always a popular Waiheke Island event held in Feb/ March each year.
